The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation is committed to supporting the provision of parks and open space. The city holds almost 3,000 acres of park-related properties, with several hundred acres yet to be developed. Further, many developed sites are in need of renovation and/or added features. In August 2002, the City Council adopted Mesa 2025, A Shared Vision. No single funding source can reasonably be expected to generate the level of funding required to implement the plan. The Foundation for Mesa Parks and Recreation, with community support, will help fund the plan and you, as an individual and/or corporation, can make a difference. City of Mesa

We do this by providing a system of well-balanced, safe, accessible, and affordable parks and recreation opportunities, facilities, programs and services that will enhance the economic vitality of the city; that will foster community and neighborhood pride and stability; that will encourage personal growth, health, and fitness; and that will enhance the generally quality of life in Mesa.
